Skoone Bastion woody plants survey

Address: Lai 51, Tallinn, Harju County
Area: 2 250 m²
Time of survey: 2021

A small section of woody plants growing on top of the Skoone bastion was inventoried, necessary for the reconstruction of the steps leading from Lai Street to the bastion top. The surveyed land area is a cultural heritage conservation area, and the studied trees grow on top of the historical monument.

Historical European lime trees over 300 years old were surveyed. Noteworthy findings included a European white elm (Ulmus laevis) which is a protected species in Estonia and its natural regeneration.
