Tallinn Pikaliiva development herbaceous plants survey

Address: Pikaliiva 152, Tallinn, Harju County
Pindala: 0,8 hectares
Time of survey: 2020

The area of interest is located in Tallinn, Southwest of Õismäe bog.

Historical maps reveal that as of 2010, the property hosted a Drained peatland forest. Since then, the area has been subjected to various human influences – drainage, logging, composting of garden waste, soil addition, etc.

Most of the forest on the property has been cut down, with the remaining part constituting a Drained peatland forest type group within the type class of Drained peatland forest. As a result, the previously characteristic class and group types have not been preserved; the habitat has been altered by human activity and partially replaced by ruderal vegetation. The majority of the plot is grassland with ruderal vegetation, where garden waste has been deposited over time. Between the sidewalk and the road lies a strip of grass representing Vegetation of yards and road edges habitat, which is regularly mowed.
