The initial task was to address the landscape around the warehouse building and to replace the greenery due to felling of some trees on the site. The central focus of the project was tall vegetation, providing visual screening while enhancing the surrounding environment. The eastern side of the project area was to be designed with trees to restrict the visibility between the adjacent educational institution and the warehouse.
Complicating the design process was the fact that the corridor of tall greenery specified in the detailed plan coincided with the existing Tallinna Vesi pipelines, so a solution had to be found that would comply with both the requirements and the restriction zone.
The overall landscaping was based on color tones that harmonize with the building, and planting areas were created and positioned in a way that would allow snow to be stored during winter.
The design focused on plants variations both in growth heights and color schemes also taking into account of the seasonal variations.
First, the woody plants survey was conducted.
