Maintenance plan for landscape

We design unique, user-friendly, and environmentally sustainable outdoor spaces. We ensure the outdoor space is safe, sensible and logical, aesthetic, functional, comprehensible, accessible, facilitating various ways for movement, serving different age groups and their diverse needs, and empowering them by supporting independent coping and providing a sense of achievement.

The purpose of a maintenance plan is to provide clear work instructions and determine the frequency of maintenance tasks to achieve the set maintenance level. Different components of the outdoor space require different types of maintenance; for example, living materials need watering, fertilizing, pruning, etc., while non-living materials need cleaning, repairing, painting, etc. Consequently, we create a work schedule with optimal frequency to ensure that the overall impression is organized and aesthetic.

Our maintenance plans consist of a work schedule as a table that is easy to follow and accompanying work instructions describing the content of the tasks, along with recommended maintenance tools (e.g., tools, fertilizers, etc.). Depending on the design, our maintenance plans are laid out either for one year (if the maintenance is the same year after year) or up to five years (if the maintenance principles vary in different years). As we have a deep understanding of the interrelations between living and non-living materials, our maintenance plans are comprehensive and effective.

Thinking about maintenance optimality should start as early as the concept design and preliminary design phase, where the concept is developed, and the principles of the design, living and non-living materials, and the desired maintenance outcome are selected. The right time to involve a landscape architect for the creation of a maintenance plan is during the detailed project or construction working documents phase, as the solution is technically detailed enough at this stage to consolidate the maintenance principles into a maintenance plan.
